Touti Cards: Values and Strength Order
Touti is played with a 40-card Spanish deck. Knowing the value and strength of each card is essential to bid well and score points. Here is the complete guide.
The 4 suits
The Spanish deck has 4 suits: oros (coins), copas (cups), espadas (swords) and bastos (clubs). Each suit holds 10 cards: the Ace, the cards 2 to 7, then the Sota, the Cabal and the Rey. There is no 8, no 9 and no Queen.
Card values in points
Only five cards per suit are worth points. The others are worth 0 but help you win tricks.
| Card | Points |
|---|---|
| As | 11 |
| 3 | 10 |
| Rey | 4 |
| Cabal | 3 |
| Sota | 2 |
| 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 | 0 |
The strength order
A card’s strength (which wins the trick) is not the same as its point value. From strongest to weakest: so the 3 (10 points) beats the Rey (4 points), and the Ace beats everything.

The total points
Each suit holds 30 points (11 + 10 + 4 + 3 + 2), so 120 points in the whole deck. Add 10 points for the last trick and Ghna bonuses (40 points in trump, 20 outside trump). A round can therefore be worth up to 230 points.
